Our mission at HopeBoards is simple. Hebrews 6:19 says that we have an anchor for the soul and a hope for the future. We know that no matter who you are or where you have been, God’s incredible love, grace, and mercy is available to all. Your life has special meaning and divine purpose and we want to employ every opportunity available to share these timeless truths and encourage others to live by principles that have eternal significance. HopeBoards exists to encourage you to "Think Different... Live Different…Skate Different."
In 2007, my eleven year-old son said, "Dad, if I were a businessman like you, I would start a Christian skateboarding company and call it Hope." That comment sparked a family discussion about the skateboarding culture—the good, the bad, and the extremely ugly. My wife lamented the age inappropriateness of some of the graphics and messages found on many popular skating websites and media. I discussed the potential of getting a business like Hope off the ground and what it would take to make such a thing a reality. My son was happy just to talk about skateboarding, snowboarding, bmxing, and all of the other extreme sports that define what is cool and fun to him at this time in his adolescence. The three of us agreed on one thing: a positive message of hope and salvation could make a difference to many skateboarding and snowboarding enthusiasts.
I decided that if I really wanted to make an impact, it was time to stop talking about what needed to happen and what needed to change, and just get out there and do something to the best of my ability and with much prayer. After pitching the idea to three business partners, Hope became a trademarked and incorporated reality in late 2008. Today, we offer the highest quality skate decks, supplies, and apparel. We are committed to providing excellent graphics, finest quality products, and unsurpassed services without ever compromising our moral values and beliefs in the process.
I believe that people just like you will identify with Hope’s mission to reach out to today’s struggling youth, to frazzled parents, to disheartened youth pastors, and many others with a message of God’s love and acceptance. I trust you will join with us in introducing Hope to those who need it most.
Keep reading this history as it will be updated on a regular basis!
Blessings!
